Sarah Jessica Parker will always have a place in our hearts. We first fell in love with her sense of style when she played Carrie Bradshaw in the ever-so-chic
Sex and The City.
But just when we thought we’d seen the last of that iconic show, it’s recently been revealed that there’s set to be something of a revival in the form of a 10-episode series revisiting the iconic SATC characters 20 years on, with production due to begin this spring for HBO Max.

So this is how Samantha is going to be written out of Sex and the City
Ever since SJP first appeared on our screens we’ve been pretty much obsessed with every look she’s given us, and were super excited to have her back on our screens over the last few years in the much-loved TV show Divorce.
From her early days in the limelight – when 90s suiting clearly rubbed off on this OG fashion influencer – to her more recent appearances, we’ve seen SJP wear everything from bodycon mini dresses on the red carpet to fuchsia, full-length gowns with a train on a side street.

Serving up some of the most epic post-lockdown style inspo, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t hoping to replicate a large proportion of her late 80s/early 90s wardrobe the minute we’re allowed back out into the real world. We’re talking oversized blazers. We’re talking slip dresses. We’re talking epic perms.
As she celebrates her 56th birthday this week, take a moment for a little trip down memory lane and have a look at the style transformation of Carrie Bradshaw’s real life persona, trend-setter Sarah Jessica Parker…

It’s official – Sarah Jessica Parker circa April, 1987 is our post-lockdown aesthetic inspo.

Hmm…could this really be SJP? The future tastemaker poses at a Vanity Fair party back in 1997 – but in the years BPF (Before Patricia Field), Miss Parker looks totally different.

Turning to the blonde side, Sarah Jessica works it in a cream minidress at 1997’s VH1 Fashion Awards.

Carrie curls ahoy! Dabbling in colour at an HBO network event for Comic Relief, SJP’s basque and patterned skirt remind us what Nineties fashion was all about.

What a difference a year makes! With a glammed-up outfit and a sleeked-down ‘do, we’re giving her extra props for being one of the first to rock shorts on the red carpet.

Our favourite TV style icon had this Oscar de la Renta gown made for her Emmys red carpet appearance in 2000. Wow!
